Mechelen, April 22, 2026 – Dokapi today announces the acquisition of the Walloon product PeppolEDGE, a specialist in secure on-premise data exchange and Peppol connectivity for compliant electronic invoicing. Thanks to this strategic alliance, Dokapi is adding outstanding Peppol expertise that will serve as a lever to accelerate its European growth while strengthening its offering.

Dokapi originated from IxorDocs which, since 2018 within the digital innovation company Ixor, had focused on supporting developers in creating intelligent document processing solutions. After five years of development and refinement of its own AI models, Dokapi was launched in early 2025 as a separate platform. Today, it helps more than 100,000 companies process and exchange invoices, purchase orders, payslips, and tax returns. These companies use Dokapi technology through accountants, social secretariats, and software platforms. Its references notably include Doccle, Acerta Securex, Isabel Group, financial institutions such as Belfius, public-sector players such as Vlaams Energiebedrijf, and companies such as Clearfacts and Teamleader.

Dokapi is also a certified Peppol access point for secure and compliant document exchange. As a result, 11.5% of affiliated Belgian companies currently use Dokapi technology for electronic invoicing.

Roel Verbeeck, CEO and founder of Ixor and Dokapi, explains: “Belgium is at the forefront of electronic invoicing thanks to its clear choice in favor of European standards such as Peppol. With Dokapi, we are building a platform that enables companies to work in a compliant, scalable, and efficient way in the processing of financial documents and electronic invoicing, within an increasingly complex European regulatory framework. Thanks to the knowledge and expertise of PeppolEDGE, we are fundamentally strengthening this position.”

Unique expertise as a strategic lever

PeppolEDGE, founded by the Walloon couple Mathieu Pasture and Laurence Guiot, builds on more than 20 years of experience in SaaS-based data exchange and on close collaboration, since 2013, with the Belgian public authorities for the implementation of Peppol in Belgium. PeppolEDGE brings solid experience in managing multinational organizations and in-depth knowledge of the French market.

The company specializes in secure, on-premise Peppol connectivity, with a particular focus on data sovereignty, compliance, and scalable architecture. The PeppolEDGE platform, supported by AI-based tools, enables the efficient exchange of all types of documents as well as electronic invoices, while allowing organizations to retain full control over their infrastructure and sensitive data. This latter point is particularly crucial in the current geopolitical context and in the face of increasingly complex regulation.

Mathieu Pasture sits on the committee responsible for developing Peppol standards within OpenPeppol, the global organization that oversees compliance with standards and the network infrastructure. His expertise is widely recognized internationally and makes him a unique profile within the Peppol ecosystem.

Mathieu Pasture, CTO of PeppolEDGE: “Peppol is evolving at a breathtaking pace and is establishing itself as critical digital infrastructure at the European level. By joining forces with Dokapi, we combine deep expertise, strong innovation capacity in AI, and a solid international network. This enables us to support organizations not only technically, but also to guide them strategically in their digital transition, toward compliant and sustainable electronic invoicing, as well as toward strategic integration with their business partners.”

Expansion into France and Germany

Dokapi’s international expansion, already underway in the Benelux, coincides with the widespread rollout of electronic invoicing in Europe and is initially targeting France, where major growth opportunities are emerging this year. Drawing on her international experience in the engineering and pharmaceutical industries, Laurence Guiot will focus on developing the Dokapi platform in the French market. At the same time, a first employee has been recruited to conquer the German market from Berlin. During the first six months following this acquisition, Roel and Laurence will work together to prepare Dokapi for the challenges of its international expansion.

“With this acquisition, we reaffirm our ambition to make Dokapi the most reliable, accessible, and efficient European platform for the digital processing of financial documents and electronic invoicing. PeppolEDGE’s unique and unmatched expertise in Peppol will play a crucial role in our international growth. We are therefore very pleased that Mathieu and Laurence, together with their team, are joining us and committing themselves to supporting Dokapi’s sustainable European growth,” concludes Roel Verbeeck.

With this acquisition, we reaffirm our ambition to make Dokapi the most reliable, accessible, and efficient European platform for the digital processing of financial documents and electronic invoicing.
